Looking for a way to change things up this Halloween? Try one of these 15 Candy-Free Halloween Treats to celebrate the holiday!
Ask any kid and they will probably tell you that the best thing about Halloween is all of the candy. Each year my kids will attend several Trunk-or-Treat events and then participate in the annual Trick-or-Treating in our neighborhood. By the end of the week, we’ve got bags and bags of candy that the kids are begging to dive into. From chocolate bars to candy-coated apples, Halloween is a kid’s dream and a dentist’s (and a mom’s) nightmare. Not only is the overload of sugary treats bad for kids’ teeth, but they will have them bouncing off the walls for days.
That’s why this year, much to my kids’ dismay, I am making the switch to candy-free Halloween treats.
Going candy-free doesn’t mean we are skimping on the fun. Ghosts, ghouls, and witches will still be part of the mix. I can still offer some fun snacks that are just a little healthier than a traditional chocolate bar.
I also plan to put together some fun treats that aren’t edible. Pinterest is a great place to hunt for some fun candy-free Halloween ideas.
I wanted a good mix of both food and toy ideas and I’ve assembled a great list below. The great thing about many of these ideas is that they aren’t only great for home but they are perfect for bringing to school parties or neighborhood gatherings. I won’t tell if you pilfer all the Reese’s from your kids treat bags and replace them with one of these candy-free Halloween treat ideas!
