There was a time I would’ve said my kids will watch a half hour of television and that’s it. But that was when I assumed they would be watching brain melting cartoons without any educational value in them. If you actually sit down and watch some of the shows you would be impressed with what is actually being taught. The same goes for the apps available. Sure there are purely entertaining games, but we chose a few fun, educational games for Isabella that now I don’t mind allowing screen time.
One of the apps Isabella has been playing with lately is called KidloLand. I previously mentioned that we decided to do preschool activities at home for a while versus sending her to a school and KidloLand was designed for toddlers and preschoolers to help them learn letters, numbers, and so much more through play. We’re constantly tricking our picky eaters and hiding vegetables in other foods…why not hide learning in their screen time, right?
Here’s what KidloLand has to offer:
There is an entire section dedicated to learning the sounds each letter makes in order to help them learn to read later on.
With over 200 different activities your child will learn problem solving skills, puzzles, pre-math skills, and Isabella’s favorite, memory skills.
The numbers section is grouped into sets of 10 to make learning easier. We like to work on one group for about a week before moving on to the next group. Isabella can almost count to 20 now on her own!

While she is learning ABCs, numbers, nursery rhymes, and so much more it has also been great for improving dexterity and patience. The games are very hands-on and require you to perform tasks that involve tapping and dragging items from here to there. Isabella sometimes gets frustrated when her finger can’t select something and hold it to move, but she continues to work at it and is so proud of herself when she completes her mission.
There is literally so much more involved in this app, so be sure to check it out!
