More often than I’d like to admit I find myself feeling stressed, tired and anxious. My days are usually pretty consistent but deadlines at work or overly-cranky toddlers can have a serious impact on my mood and overall well-being. As mothers and even just women in general, we tend to take on more than we probably should, but its in our composition to try to fix everything, take on every role, and nurture everyone. Practicing self-care isn’t something I do regularly and usually I find myself feeling guilty or full of regret for taking time for myself. However, self-care aids in balancing out our lives and helping us become better mothers, partners, and friends.
Pamper Yourself
Every woman deserves some pampering whether that means spending some time at a spa or salon getting your hair & nails done or doing an at-home face mask and manicure/pedicure. The end result is time spent on just YOU. Looking good on the outside is a great confidence booster too!
Work It Out
Burning calories and boosting endorphins can do wonders for your soul. I have a brighter outlook and boost of energy after a good work out. If you can find a workout you enjoy it’ll be so much easier to keep up with it.
Indulge Without Regret
Maintaining a healthy diet is a great way to care for your mind and body on a daily basis. But life is about balance. Indulging in something sinfully sweet can turn around a rough day. There’s nothing worse than taking a night off from a workout and snacking on something that will end up making you feel guilty. Kemps Yo² is my guilt-free go-to treat that cures my sweet tooth and late night craving. It’s made with premium milk and yogurt minus the high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors and artificial growth hormones. Frozen yogurt never tasted so good with flavors like raspberry cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter and cold brewed coffee.
The other night my husband and I blew off the gym on a whim and went for this delicious frozen yogurt sundae bar and guess what? I didn’t feel bad about it at all. 😉
I found Kemps Yo² at my local Winn Dixie in the ice cream aisle.
Do you practice self-care? I’d love to hear your ideas!
Happy Indulging!
