We’re heading into a holiday weekend so of course I was already thinking about what the kids and I would be wearing. Just in case you needed some ideas too I’ve rounded up some gear for everyone in the family from my favorite shops!
Even though the holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, technically 4th of July weekend is this coming weekend! We typically don’t have any plans because my husband will work the entire weekend, but I like to spice things up for the kids and make it still feel different than a typical weekend. So whether or not you go away or watch fireworks I’ve got some family-friendly fun ideas for you!
1. Have a water balloon fight.
Get outside and stay cool with a friendly water balloon fight! These water balloons are quick and easy to prep.
2. Grill up some grub.
There’s something about having a barbecue that screams summer holiday, am I right?! Try this simple grilled recipe.
3. Learn the meaning behind the holiday.
Now is the perfect time to explain to your kids the exact meaning behind the holiday! Sure the fireworks and RWB stuff is fun, but it’s not why the day exists!
4. Crafts & Activities

5. Head to the beach.
If you’re close enough to the beach go! Spend the night or two and make it a mini vacation!
6. Watch fireworks!
Check out your local town’s Facebook page or website for locations. One year we were lucky enough to be able to watch the fireworks from the bedroom window of our high-rise apartment!
Snag some RWB gear to help you celebrate!
