On the rare occasion my husband doesn’t have to work or have a project planned for the weekend he’ll take the kids out and let me relax and unwind. For just a few hours I can do anything I please without hearing “Mommy!” yelled from the other room. I can go to the bathroom without an audience and eat a snack without having to share. For just a few hours I can hear myself think. Sometimes though I get so excited I don’t even know what to do with myself. ? So if you’re like me, I’m going to share a few ideas for you to save if you ever get so lucky to take a mommy-time-out. But first, you need to dress the part so go slip on your favorite loungewear.
The first step to feeling relaxed is putting on soft, loungewear like Cuddl Duds. I currently own three pairs of these leggings because they’re so comfortable you barely notice they’re there. You’ll want to grab a cowlneck tunic and fleece wrap while you’re at it. Trust me. You’ll start out by sitting down in your quiet home cuddling on the couch and skimming through social media on your phone. But soon you’ll tire of that and decide to organize a closet or something. Layers are the key here. For me, I find cooking (without children whining for food) therapeutic. Working over a hot stove [or crockpot] can get warm, hence the layers. ? See why they’re essential for the #momiform?
- Read a book! (Something other than Brown Bear, Brown Bear…)
- Give yourself a mani/pedi
- Netflix binge
- Change into comfortable clothes
- Call/text your girlfriends! (What?! A conversation without being interrupted by toddlers every two minutes?!)
- Apply a face mask
- Take a nap!
Whatever you do, make sure it’s for you!
Cuddl Duds are the perfect cool weather layers for moms on the go or those rare alone times. I’m wearing the Softwear Stretch Cowl-neck tunic in gray, matching softwear leggings in black and also own the soft knit leggings in the marled chocolate heather color.
