Monday through Friday I get up every morning and put on my face. The weekends are a crap shoot as I’m chasing toddlers and fending off meltdowns and planning trips to the park or Disney. I recently shared my nighttime beauty routine and also some winter beauty swaps, but today I thought it would be fun to open up my makeup bag and show you all what I use all day, every day. The majority of my beauty products are your basic drugstore products, but most recently I took a trip to Sephora and upgraded my concealer and foundation. Some things are worth the splurge and for others a drugstore dupe will do just fine.I start with a daily moisturizer before applying my e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer. After I let that set for a couple minutes (I’ll grab my coffee now) I’ll come back and apply my bareMinerals BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation (Sandalwood 15) with the e.l.f. Kabuki Face Brush. To be honest I used to apply my foundation with my fingers. Gasp! I randomly picked up the kabuki brush and instantly fell in love with the way my foundation went on. This brush is so soft and creates an airbrush look with the bareMinerals foundation, lightweight and build-able coverage. Next I apply the Too Faced Born This Way concealer (Very Fair) in a triangle shape under my eyes to cover the dark circles. Using a damp makeup sponge I will blend up into the corners of my eyes and down slightly along my nose. Immediately after I will take my damp sponge and bake the concealer with the bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil translucent powder. This step was a recent addition and really allows my concealer to not crease and last all day.
Once my foundation is done I move on to contouring with the e.l.f. Blush & Bronzing Powder (St. Lucia) right below my cheekbones and up around my hairline. That’s really all I do with contouring for my every day makeup routine. Next I move on to my eyes, applying MakeUp Designory eye pencil (Black) on my lower lash line. For my eyelids I have been loving Makeup Geek in shades Prom Night & Moon Dust for the crease, Peach Smoothie for my lower lid and Beaches & Cream near my eyebrow line. Some days, not always, I’ll use the Revlon Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner – Black Out to line my eye lid. Finally my ABSOLUTE favorite mascara is the Neutrogena Healthy Volume Waterproof Mascara (Carbon Black). I’ve tried SO many mascaras and even suffered with allergic reactions. This one never fails me and can’t compete with any of the other drugstore products.
I leave for work around 7:30 am and don’t get back home until close to 6 every day, so having makeup that lasts the entire day is really important. I haven’t experimented with many setting/finishing sprays, but do like using the e.l.f. makeup mist & set.
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my every day beauty routine and seeing which products I splurge on! I’d love to hear some of your absolute favorite products and why in the comments below! I’m always down to try out new makeup products to see if they can top what I’m currently using.
