Our daughter is five years old and miss independent. That is until you ask her to clean her room and make her bed. There is nothing harder in the world than pulling up your blankets and arranging your pillows. I’m working on choosing my battles with my kids, and after discovering Beddys zipper bedding, I realized making the bed doesn’t have to be one of them.
Since the start of the new year, I’ve been working on little updates and refreshing different areas of our home. The holiday decor came down leaving a blank slate for me to play with. For Isabella’s room, we switched out her bright pink room darkening curtains for new white ones. Spending under $30 COMPLETELY changed the look of her room. No more pink overcast lighting up her room. It now appeared larger and brighter.
Beddys Zipper Bedding
The next update was the bedding. Beddys has so many adorable bedding sets to choose from, but we went with the Love at First White. If you’re wondering what I mean by zipper bedding, this just means the entire set (comforter, fitted sheet and blanket) are all ONE PIECE. I will let you catch your breath.
You put the set on just like you would a fitted sheet. There is an easy-to-pull zipper that runs down each side, all the way to the bottom where they meet in the middle.
Attached to the top comforter is a soft minky blanket (think of a baby blanket) that pulls over the side for extra comfort. Fold it under and zip back up for a clean, made bed. The zipper is hidden under a small flap that hangs around the edge and is extremely easy for little ones to zip and unzip.
Washing Instructions
We wanted to put this to the test, because let’s face it…there’s always “others” out there and you want to make sure the price you’re spending is actually worth the investment. The best way to wash your bedding is to unzip (separate top and bottom) and wash alone on cold and tumble dry low. The fabric, zipper and stitching is the best quality and really holds up in the washer. (It’s recommended that you don’t wash more than once a week.)
Considering you’re getting a fitted sheet, comforter, soft minky blanket, two pillow cases and two shams (in a full-size set) I really feel it’s worth the investment. If your little ones have bunk-beds, I’ve heard they are AMAZING for this. I can imagine making the top bunk can’t be easy, but with zipper bedding it would be a breeze.
