Traveling has always been a dream of ours. Family travel, travel without kids and international travel…we want it all. On somewhat of a whim, we decided to take a kid-free trip to Chicago and experience all the city has to offer. (Read all about our trip here.) Location was key for us. While getting an Uber or Lyft is easy, we wanted to stay in a prime location and avoid the additional expense. We decided to stay in downtown Chicago at the gorgeous boutique hotel, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Chicago.
Kimpton Hotel Palomar Chicago
The Kimpton Hotel Palomar is a gorgeous boutique hotel located in the River North area. The hotel’s location granted us prime access to the best eats, easy access to tourist attractions like Millennium Park where the Bean is situated, Willis Tower, preciously known as the Sears Tower and stands tall at 1,450 ft in the air, the Art Institute and so much more.
Kimpton’s guest rooms are modern and sophisticated with floor to ceiling windows allowing for stunning views of the city. The beds are so cozy and inviting that I just had to order room service each morning to enjoy breakfast in bed. Speaking of breakfast, you can enjoy complimentary morning coffee and tea along with your in-room breakfast order. My husband ordered the french toast both mornings, so I guess it’s safe to say he highly recommends it!
The bathrooms were stunning and I can’t rave enough about the water pressure. If you’re a female you understand the importance of a good shower, especially if it’s hair washing day.
Other hotel amenities include an indoor pool on the 17th floor complete with a view, wine hour from 5-6 pm, loaner PUBLIC bikes to explore the city and the best hotel restaurant you could ask for. The staff were all so accommodating and eager to assist whenever needed. If you forget anything (like me and my toothbrush), they are there to help with their “Forgot It, We’ve Got It Amenities” service.
With 67 boutique hotels in 37 cities, you can bet we’ll be staying at Kimpton Hotels again!
