The last thing any mom wants is to see their kids sick. We care for them, nurse them back to health and give them all the snuggles they require. Then they repay you by passing on their cold or flu. Fun times. Among supplements like vitamin C, Zinc and Elderberry, I head right for an immune boosting tea and I thought I’d share my 3 favorite tea recipes with you.
3 Immune Boosting Teas for Cold & Flu Season
The first course of action when I feel a cold symptom come on is to take Vitamin C, Elderberry and Zicam. (Zicam will really only work if you catch your symptoms in time.) I also found another supplement that helps tremendously – Pure Synergy® Rapid Rescue®. This cold and flu remedy contains echinacea, elderberry extract along with olive leaf, oregano and other immunity boosters. While all that is working, I sip on tea all day long.
Starbucks Citrus Defender (Medicine Ball)
I stumbled across this Starbucks hidden menu item while scrolling through Instagram stories. Of course by the time I learned about it, Starbucks had changed the commonly referred to name of Medicine Ball to Citrus Defender. You can easily make this at home with the following ingredients: 1 cup with half hot water and half steamed lemonade (or lemon juice to avoid extra sugar), 1 bag of Teavana Jade Citrus Mint Tea, 1 bag of Teavana Peach Tranquility Tea, raw honey, and optional peppermint. This tea may not cure you, but it will certainly provide some relief and soothe a sore throat.
Magic Tea by The Little Farm Hands
Brittney from The Little Farm Hands has become one of my favorite Insta-Friends and shared her magic tea in stories one day. I decided to give it a go after a REALLY bad cold, obviously passed on from both of my kids. This tea contains several powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial fresh ingredients including fresh ginger, turmeric root and fresh oregano sprigs. Click for the full recipe/directions.
