With all the recent home organization craze that has hit the internet lately, I started tackling my kitchen cabinets. Admittedly, the organization process took a backseat for a while, but came back with a vengeance just in time for spring cleaning. I recently organized my kitchen cabinets using Rubbermaid® Easy Easy Find Lids™ and now am here to share some tips with you and a chance to win a pantry makeover valued at $5,000!
HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR KITCHEN PANTRY AND CABINETS
Having an organized kitchen cabinet and pantry system may seem daunting to some, but once the project is complete it can save you and your family valuable time on a day to day basis. In some cases, it could even save you money. Truth time: Sometimes I would get so frustrated with not being able to find a lid to my storage containers that I would just toss any leftovers. Hello big waste of money.
The first thing I did was to completely empty out my cabinet that contained storage containers. I tossed old containers without matching lids (Where did they go?!) and ones that were in bad shape. I wanted to only keep containers that I could use daily and that were practical.
The best tip I have is to be ruthless about it. If you haven’t used an item in over a year for any holiday or season, chances are it’s just a waste of valuable space. Get rid of it! If it is something you use only a few times a year, create a separate space for it away from everyday items. Group your like items together, storage containers and lids on one shelf, jars on another, and seasonal items somewhere else.

Rubbermaid® Easy Find Lids™ were the best solution to keeping an organized cabinet and pantry. They’re offered in a variety of sizes and have lids that snap on to the bottom of the containers so losing lids would no longer be an issue. Plus (this is a big plus for me) they are microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe.
The next step in organizing the kitchen cabinets was to remove bulky cardboard packaging and opened packages of ingredients, snacks and food. Then I went through and discarded any stale or expired food items and almost empty bags of pretzels and chips. Baking items can be stored in the Rubbermaid® containers to preserve freshness and minimize space. The same can be done for all the dried snacks like pretzels and crackers.
