Last year was a big year for us. We purchased our #CLWLFixerUpper and turned this site into a legal business LLC. BIG CHANGES! Some of our major projects in 2019 included a complete kitchen renovation, laundry makeover, and brand spankin’ new entryway + front door that was featured on the Home Depot Blog. It’s so wild to think that we did all that in just 3 months around the holiday season.
So now here we are in 2020 and someone recently asked me if we planned on renovating every inch of this home. The short answer: probably so. The long answer: here we go…
Projects We Have Planned for 2020
Some of these projects are big while others are smaller. Knowing how DIY usually goes, we may or may not actually get to all these plans.
Our fireplace currently sits off-center in our living room and is in need of a major face-lift. I would love to remove the hearth, white-wash the stone and update the mantel.
Right after we moved in, we demo’ed the existing wall that sat between the entryway coat closet and laundry room to create a built-in mudroom area. We know exactly what we want now and hope to have it completed soon.
Update: Mudroom Reveal!
This one is most important to my husband so that he has efficient workspace to build out these projects. He currently has a massive workbench that he plans to breakdown and rebuild into a modular system. A shed would be ideal for the kids’ bikes + scooters along with lawn equipment.
Guest Bath Remodel
Both bathrooms need a complete remodel in this home, but we hope to start with the kids/guest bath this fall when we have an extra set of hands to help.
The goal is to replace the vanity with double sinks, remove wallpaper and repaint, and update the bathtub area with something more modern and cost-effective.
Bay Window Kitchen Bench
We would like to create a built-in storage bench under the bay windows in the kitchen and replace the table with something either round or oval.
The dining room was eliminated to create a guest room so we need a space in the kitchen that can seat extended family.
Front Patio/Seating Area
We have this overgrown space between the front door and quarter wall in the front that I’d like to turn into a small patio area with seating.
We don’t have a large backyard due to the screened in pool, so the kids tend to play more in the front yard. Having a shaded seating area would be ideal.
Our screened in lanai (or back patio) is in desperate need of some love and attention. We plan to remove the outdoor carpeting (yes, carpeting) and reface the concrete.
Update! DIY Stenciled Concrete Patio has been completed and revealed!
We always have miscellaneous projects going on like organization and creating functional storage solutions.
This house is in desperate need of windows and blinds so that may be looming up ahead.
Looking forward to this year ahead and seeing how much we can accomplish! Do you have any home projects coming up this year?
