Most of us can agree that once winter rolls around, the change in temperatures can have a dramatic effect on our skin. Dry, itchy, flaky, and chapped all come to mind when I think winter, but it doesn’t have to be that severe if you take some precautions and revamp your winter skincare routine by swapping out some of your typical beauty products for stronger products including Herpecin L. Yep, I said it – using a lip balm designed for cold sores packs a preventative punch and I’ll explain why.
Winter Skincare Beauty Swaps
Face Wash & Moisturzer
During the winter your face tends to dry out the most, leading to flaky skin. Swap out your typical face wash with a creamier, moisturizing wash. I know better than anyone that at the end of the day the last thing you want to do is wash your face before heading off to bed. Take the 5 extra minutes. This will help your skin adjust to the change in weather.
Even with oily skin, you need to moisturize your face. I failed to do this for so long, but once I found a decent lightweight day cream it made all the difference in my skin. During the winter, you’ll want to swap your typical cream out for something a little more thicker and moisturizing along with using a retinol cream at night.
Lip Moisturizer
Having dry, chapped winter lips is the absolute worst! Even more painful is if you’re prone to cold sores during the colder months. What’s even more shocking is that 50-80% of adults in the US have cold sores (oral herpes). A few close family members are very familiar with this issue, so I’ve been aware of Herpecin L for quite some time. What’s great about this lip moisturizer is that it’s really an all-purpose lip treatment. Herpecin L can be used to not only relieve cold sores, but protect against chapped lips and act as a sunscreen. Using Herpecin L has made a huge difference in the feeling of my lips. Protect the Underarms
There’s not much more embarrassing than having itchy underarms. Constant shaving can lead to extra dryness, so finding a moisturizing antiperspirant can really be helpful during the winter. I switched to Dove Advanced Care several months ago and it’s made all the difference.
Taking a few extra minutes each day and swapping out a few beauty products can make all the difference to your skin in the winter. If you’ve tried Herpecin L and love it as much as I do, leave me a comment below! I’d love to hear from you!
