5 TIPS FOR HOSTING A SUMMER PARTY ON A BUDGET WITH A FREE MEMBERSHIP TO BJs WHOLESALE CLUB

Summer is quickly rolling around and that typically means lots of BBQs, birthday parties, and holiday gatherings. Placing value on more time spent with family is more important to me then wasting it on running here and there and everywhere. TIP #1: TIMING IS EVERYTHING

The absolute best way to save money and keep to your budget on a summer birthday party is to time it right. If your party starts at lunch or dinner time then you’ll need to plan for full meals. Hosting a mid-afternoon party around 2-3 pm will save you money and allow you to only need snacks and drinks on hand.

TIP #2: BUY IN BULK & AVOID THE PARTY STORE

Avoid the party supply store like the plague. These stores are a trap to take all your money. What party do you know of that only has 8 guests? None. Which means you’ll be buying multiple packs of plates, cups, napkints, etc. Shop for all your party supplies in bulk at BJs. Chances are you’ll save some cash and still have leftovers for future summer BBQs.

TIP #3: THINK LIKE A MINIMALIST

Sure all the licensed partyware is super adorable and the appetizers and snack recipes are plentiful on Pinterest. Reign it in. Think reusable too! Grab reusable serving dishes and spoons in a neutral color that can be used for parties to come. Select only a few accent pieces to highlight your theme and use popular colors for cups, plates, and napkins. For instance, red plates will match our Paw Patrol party theme and also serve well for 4th of July and Labor Day BBQs.

TIP #4: DOUBLE BOOK

My kids’ birthdays are in June and July. I’m taking full advantage while they’re still young to combine their birthday party into one!

TIP #5: SHOP SEASONAL

When planning your minimalist menu, plan to incorporate seasonal fruits and vegetables. Bonus if you can use ingredients in several recipes. BJs Wholesale has some of the freshest fruits and vegetables available in bulk quantities.
