Mom Blogger, Crazy Life with Littles, shares her top sick day hacks for children including Lolleez organic pops to soothe sore throats.

Having sick children in the house is no fun for anyone. It’s both heartbreaking and zero fun dealing with a cranky child. All general rules (i.e. screen time usage, etc.) go out the window during this time frame. I am by no means an expert parent, but have dealt with my fair share of sick days to be able to share these tested sick day hacks for your children (+ for your survival).
9 Sick Day Hacks for Your Children + Your Survival

1- Lolleez – Soothing Pops – Ultimate Sick Day Hacks
My son suffers from what seems like frequent colds and sore throats. He refuses to take honey or any other natural remedy, so we decided to try out Lolleez organic throat soothing pops for kids. They are free of artificial ingredients, non-GMO, and gluten, dairy and nut free! Plus they’re a lollipop so automatic win for kids.

Lolleez are readily available at Target, CVS, Walgreens and Amazon along with Tumeez, organic tummy soothing lollipops. Read more about the brand and their products here.

2- Screen Time
All screen time rules go out the window on sick days. The more TV the better especially once the medicine kicks in and they all of a sudden feel better, but still need to be resting.
With flu season coinciding with the holidays, check out our list of family movies available on Amazon Video.
3- Puzzles + Quiet Activities
Break out a few puzzles + quiet games to keep them busy, but low-key. It will keep their hands busy while watching TV wrapped in a cozy blanket. [Also check out our Ultimate List of Quiet Sick Day Activities here.]
4- Cozy Blanket
Nothing feels better than a super soft + cozy blanket on a sick day. It’s like wrapping yourself in a hug all day. I bought a soft blanket once that was so popular everyone in the house was fighting over it. The sick person gets automatic access.
5- Humidifier
Most of us know to use humidifiers or hang out in a steamy bathroom, but you can also bring the humidifier out to the living room during the day to help children rest and breathe better on sick days.
6- Epsom Salt Bath
This sick day hack doesn’t get enough attention. There comes a point in the day when not only do you feel sick, but just icky too. Draw your child a warm bath and add some Epsom salt to the water. Epsom salt helps with detoxification and overall aches and pains that can come along with sickness.
7- Grocery Delivery
This one may be more for you than your children. Most likely you’ll have to forgo all daily activities to cuddle on the couch with your sick one. Order medicine, tissues, groceries and dinner right from the couch. This simple hack is one I use even when the kids aren’t sick.
8- Vapor Rub
An old-school hack that my mom passed on to me – rub a little bit of vapor rub on the soles of your children’s feet and cover with socks. I don’t know the science behind it, but it really does help with nighttime coughs.
9- Medicine Cocktail Hack
Once upon a time my kids would gag and flat out refuse to take medicine. I came up with a hack that has them asking for more. Just top off the medicine cup with their favorite juice and have them drink it through a straw.
