Background: I started blogging a little less than a year ago as a way to document my life, the kid’s milestones, and share photos with family and friends. Over the course of the year my following grew and opportunities arose to monetize my site. I have earned a little under $3,000 in the 5 months since I started monetizing. My reason for continuing to write blog income reports is not to brag, but to encourage those with smaller blogs to value themselves. Not only are you following a passion but you’re also providing a service and visibility to a brand. You don’t need hundreds of thousands of pageviews (although that would be nice!) to be an asset to a brand. You just need to believe in yourself and your ideas! I’m also a very visual person. By day I’m a Staff Accountant so it just comes naturally to me to constantly convert everything into numbers. Plus I like to see my progression, take a look at the stats and see what posts perform better than others.
This month I was hesitant to take on a specific sponsored post because I had written something similar in the past. I brainstormed and decided to do it and make it really informative and beneficial to my readers. This post turned out to be the best decision for my blog and highest performing post this month.
I also changed up my BoardBooster tactics in the previous month and increased my budget to allow Pinterest to start taking the lead in my referral source.
