One thing that keeps me going and consistent with my workouts is refreshing my activewear collection. Being on a budget, those $100 leggings just wasn’t going to happen for me. I needed to find quality workout gear that was also budget friendly. And guess what? Walmart came through with budget friendly activewear for the whole family!
Budget Friendly Activewear for the Whole Family
I have two general rules for the perfect workout leggings: 1) they must stay up and not roll at the top and 2) I don’t want to know they’re there. Meaning I don’t want to have to make ANY adjustments to my clothing during a workout. I have enough going on that I don’t want to have to worry about what my clothes are doing. So I always make sure to look for high-waisted leggings with moderate compression. I’m only 5’1 so I prefer the 7/8 leggings since they hit right at the ankle or above.
These open back tanks are my favorite lately. They come in a variety of colors and are super soft + comfy for workouts or just running errands on the weekend.
One of the biggest challenges I face when shopping for activewear is definitely finding a good sports bra. As a larger chested woman I’ve struggled in this area big time. I’m not sure what happened over the last decade, but somehow they became more about looks than actual functionality. After searching high and low, and almost dropping a small fortune on a recommended sports bra – I found these! Under $13, comes in a few colors and actually provide SUPPORT throughout an entire workout. I never had to stop to adjust myself and make sure everything was all still in there.
And then of course I had to shop for my kids! My daughter has shown an interest in activewear recently, saying she wants more workout clothes like mommy. Walmart has the cutest little outfits for boys and girls on a budget.
I grabbed her this little two-piece outfit with an active tank and bike shorts and it’s one of her favorites!
