#MakeHerMothersDay #CollectiveBias
Mother’s Day is rapidly approaching and instead of gathering everyone up and heading out for brunch I’ve decided to create a simple, yet elegant Mother’s Day brunch at home. Keeping it low key with lighter fare ensures that not only will mom and grandmom get to relax but so will you (me?).
Other than birthdays there’s only one other day out of the year that mom’s should be able to kick back and relax. So while I may be handling brunch, the men will be treating us like queens for dinner. (We hope.) What I love about this brunch is that you can purchase everything you need to make her Mother’s Day by shopping at Walmart. No need to run around to multiple stores grabbing ingredients and a gift. Head to the Celebration aisle to pick up an American Greetings card and gift wrap. There are cards for every special mom in your life!
Savings Tip: Redeem this Ibotta offer for $2 off any 2 American Greetings cards.
PLAN THE MENU
As a mom myself, the last thing I want to do is spend hours upon hours cooking brunch. For an occasion like this I like to go with “semi-homemade”. When your presentation is on point it won’t matter that your pancakes aren’t made from scratch.
Here’s a peek at our menu:
- Mini/pancake stacks topped with a mint leaf ? and fresh berries ?
- Oatmeal cups with fresh fruit and yogurt (optional)
- Pancake toppings: hazelnut spread and maple syrup for drizzling ?
- Sparkling Berry Lemonade ?
CREATE THE TABLE SETTINGS
Creating the ambiance will make your moms and grandmothers feel even more special. Decorate each place setting with cloth napkins, your best dishes and silverware, fresh flowers and a small homemade mason jar gift. Inside the mason jar are homemade lotion bars. They’re very simple to make and perfect for that special woman in your life.
PREPARE YOUR GIFT
Some may think that because I’m a “blogger” I have a way with words…that just isn’t true, especially when it comes to my feelings. I know I’m not the best with words and expressing my gratitude for all that my mom and grandmother do throughout the year and that’s why I’m grateful for American Greetings. The cards are so beautiful and eloquently written saying all the things I want my mom to know.
