The dreaded veggies. I distinctly remember sitting at the dinner table as a child for extended lengths of time until I finished my vegetables. Green beans, lima beans, peas, broccoli….I gagged. On each and every one. That’s why it doesn’t come as a shock to me that my kids feel the same way about their vegetables. Thankfully I’ve come up with a few tricks on how to get your kids to eat their veggies (without gagging).
Baby Food Pouches
They’re actually not just for babies. Both of my toddlers love the fruit & veggie pouches. They’re great for on the go and come in a variety of different flavors that my kids love.
Add Veggies to the Main Dish
Every night I put a piece of vegetable on my kids’ plates. Every night it sits there untouched (sometimes it is poked with a fork with a disgusted look on their face). So I decided to get creative and hide their veggies in a sauce. Pasta and macaroni and cheese are crowd favorites right? Puree some vegetables and add them into a cheese sauce or tomato sauce. They’ll never know the difference!
Try Garden Lites!
During a recent grocery run to Publix I came upon Garden Lites muffins in the frozen entree/vegetable aisle. I’ve seen so many Pinteresty recipes that show vegetables in baked goods and while I did pin them and mean to try them out I just didn’t have the time. #MomLife Garden Lites muffins are super convenient and packed with simple, clean ingredients with the number one ingredient being vegetables. They’re also diary/gluten/nut free. How good could they really taste, right? SO good! Seriously. We first tested the chocolate muffins and they were a huge hit!
My kids had no idea! Gabriel isn’t a huge chocolate eater, so I made sure to grab the blueberry kind for him.
Garden Lites muffins are great for adding key nutrients to your families’ diets and perfect as an on-the-go snack.
You can find them in the freezer section of your nearest Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant, Shop-Rite, HEB, Kroger or Costco. Be sure to take along this coupon for $1 off!

Mine are the same way! Sometimes we have a really good day and some days they are all "um can we have chick-fil-a?" ? Putting veggie purée in the sauce is genius! I will have to try that with them, they love pasta! Thanks!!!

My kids do the same thing! They just sit there and stare at their vegetables disgusted! I've got to try the puree thing! My son LOVES Mac and cheese!
