Whether you take a lot of pictures (guilty) or just a few, photos are a way to capture all the little moments and ever changing personalities of our kids. Since I’m guilty of taking more photos than the average mom I thought I would share a few tips on how we get holiday ready around here. Because holidays equals photo overload. You can use these tips for taking your little one’s milestone photos or capturing memorable events/days. We all have a touch of momotagrapher in us, some just get a little more into it. 😉
I shoot most of our photos outdoors in the late afternoon after they’ve had a chance to nap. They’re bathed and bellies full from a snack. Some people like to bribe their kids with snacks while they take pictures, but I usually prefer not to have lollipops or full mouths in my pictures. My kids would make the weirdest faces. Sticking to clothes that fit your kid’s personal style works best. My little 3 year old is not a fan of pants. Dresses and skirts are the way to her heart. So I know if I put a pretty little skirt on her I will get great photos of her twirling around with a big smile on her face.

Next comes the hair. We’ve been using SoCozy products for a while now and love the results and the fact that they’re non-toxic, clean hair products. Recently they came out with a new sensitive line called Hush. With spring and summer temperatures approaching your little one may be prone to more rashes. These hair care products were made to take these sensitivities into consideration.
We use the 2-in-1 shampoo + conditioner and apply the Sensitive Scalp Serum afterwards. If your little one has an irritated scalp this will work to protect it from irritants. The detangler is my all time favorite for combing Isabella’s long hair. We use it after baths and on dry hair the following morning. We have far less cries when we use this ??. If I’m putting her hair up I’ll use a bit of the Styling Foam to tame the fly-aways. Gabriel gets a dollop of this to keep his little blonde locks in a spiked mohawk style.
