Halloween is over and I am now freely speaking of the holidays! I’m not sorry! The holidays are so exciting especially if you have little ones. Seeing their little faces in awe over things like Christmas lights, picking out the tree, and sitting on Santa’s lap just makes my heart so full! With the holidays also comes copious amounts of food and family gatherings. If you’re like me, you stress about it all too. Will my picky eater like the fancy 7 cheese macaroni cheese or will it go flying on to Aunt Sally’s freshly painted white walls? Don’t worry! Nuby has so many feeding items designed to reduce messes during holiday mealtimes.
What to Pack in your Diaper Bag for Holiday Mealtimes
So let’s talk about where your toddler is going to eat at Aunt Sally’s house…who by the way has never had kids, therefore doesn’t have a highchair or booster seat available. Good China will surely go flying if your little one is entrusted with such things. Be sure to slide the Nuby™ Sure grip™ Miracle Mat into your diaper bag before heading out. It’s lightweight and compact, but will also cling to any counter or tabletop surface keeping those walls and floors from receiving your precious little one’s food.
The Miracle Mat is made of 100% silicone with super gripping action! Simply press firmly down in the center of the plate to remove any trapped air to help ensure a tight seal for suction. It also works best if the surface is free of grease/oil.
LOVING this bowl! The Sure Grip Suction Bowl is designed for 6 months + and suctions to flat surfaces. The entire bowl is made from durable silicone. I love the weight of it so much. It’s not heavy, but not light as a feather either. The suction on this bowl is strong enough for my guy. We love to use this for yogurt and apple sauce. My son has gotten so independent that he won’t let us spoon feed him and he’s doing great on his own!
Little utensils are great for independent self-feeders and learning. I love the miniature size of these and of course the adorable little monkeys on the handles haha! They have several other fun characters your kids are sure to love. You may think why would I give little Bobby a fork…he can’t use it. If not for any other reason, give them that fork to occupy a hand. That’s one less hand throwing said food on Aunt Sally’s walls! But seriously these stainless steel forks and spoons are great for little learners.
Both Isabella and Gabriel are using the Nuby 360 Wonder Cups™ now. A small part of me wants to cry seeing them grow up so fast. But these are great cups and SPILL-PROOF. Enough said…but I’ll go on. You can drink from any side of these cups (hence the 360). The top is made out of silicone with tiny valves that open when lip pressure is applied. Once the pressure is removed the valve closes off. Aunt Sally says thank you for not getting juice on her unrealistic white carpet.
Well silly me, you can’t actually pack this in your bag, but be sure to prepare yourself with plenty of patience. Most of the time when we go out, our kids are really good. They love the extra attention from relatives and playing with the other children. If they do get rowdy, give them grace. Holidays don’t come around often, but do be aware of tiredness and know when it’s time to call it quits and head home. There’s nothing worse than an overtired toddler on the verge of a meltdown because his day has been completely thrown off schedule.
All of these items will easily slide down into your diaper bag making mealtimes a little less stressful while you’re out and about during the holidays. While you’re at, you should check out my favorite organizational bags for your diaper bag. All these utensils including snacks will slide down into this feeding bag.
