We are navigating through uncharted territory these days and spending a lot of time at home together as a family. This is not the norm, but we’re finding the silver lining through it all and incorporating frequent family game nights to keep things light and fun!

Our library of games and activities already included Play-Doh sets, “Sorry”, Mr. Potato Head and Marvel action figures. We brought home more fun from Dollar General including Monopoly, Power Ranger action figures, and more Play-Doh sets (these are hit!).

Family Games
Hasbro has some fun board games like Sorry! Rivals Edition Board Game, The Game of Life Rivals Edition Board Game, and Monopoly Rivals Edition Board Game. My husband and 6 year old daughter get super competitive and have a great time going head to head.

Independent Play
Family game night is fun for getting us all involved, but we also enjoy our own independent time. My kids get 1-2 hours of “quiet time” every day. During this time my husband and I are able to do some projects around the house while the kids get to use their imaginations.
Action Figures
My son’s imagination has really taken off within the last year or so. He loves Marvel Super Heroes and most recently, Power Rangers. Dollar General has an assortment of Marvel Avengers Action Figures, including Black Panther and Iron Man.

His favorite Power Ranger is the Red Ranger, imagining him leading the Rangers into battle – yelling “it’s morphin time!”.

Play-Doh Mini Playsets
Play-Doh has become a daily activity since becoming home-bound, keeping the kids occupied for hours at a time. What I love about the Play-Doh sets is seeing them become creative, but also being able to incorporate sets like the Mini Doctor Drill ‘n Fill set into their virtual learning program.

The Mini Playsets are also compact enough to take on the go if we need a change of scenery (like going in the backyard).

I encourage you to find the silver lining during this home-bound time with your families! Shop Dollar General for budget-friendly family games and activities.
