Who’s ready for their kids to go back to school?! I can’t be the only one rejoicing at the start of the school year! Let me tell you why…
It feels like just yesterday my little girl was graduating from VPK and now here we are just a few days away from starting kindergarten in a new school. While part of me wants to cry, the other part of me is saying hallelujah!
These are the 5 top reasons I’m so excited to send my oldest back to school.
Back to School Shopping!
I mean…hello! Any excuse to shop and find great deals is a reason to celebrate in my mind. We headed to Famous Footwear to stock up during their BOGO 1/2 OFF + 15% off sale. We love stores that are one-stop shops of everything from back to school shoes from the hottest brands, backpacks and other accessories. We were able to get an accurate measurement of the ever-growing kids’ feet and let them get hands on in picking out the styles they love the most. While I personally love online shopping, there are some purchases that are better made in-store. And knowing my daughter, she needs to be 100% involved in the process.
Finding a shoe that is comfortable for our active girl was really important. She picked out a pair of fun, light up Twinkle Toes Skechers that she insisted on wearing out of the store! I can’t blame her…they’re pretty darn cute!
We Thrive on Schedules
My kids off schedule is scary. They start acting out and become bored ever-so easily. Schedules make our family a much happier group of people.
Recharge the Routine
The start of a new year is the perfect opportunity to get back on your game. We amp up our routine and look for areas of improvement and efficiency. This is an area I can definitely use improvement in. Back to school means I have more motivation to be out the door on time now that I have to do school drop-off.
Less Fighting!
My kids are crazy! They drive each other nuts, but hate to be apart. Go figure right?! Having the time away from each other during the day makes them so much happier and nicer to each other when they reunite! Happier kids = happier moms!
Uniforms!
I’ve been told school uniforms make life so much easier and honestly I’m starting to embrace the concept. My daughter would wear one of three outfits on repeat if I let her, along with some wild combination of non-matching prints. Uniforms are going to simplify our morning routine and lead to less arguments! Amen for that!
