When most people talk about making over rooms of their house, it’s usually the kitchen, a bathroom, or possibly a living room or bedroom. But laundry rooms aren’t usually first on the list for a makeover.
And that seems a little odd to me because doing mundane tasks, like laundry, is a lot more enjoyable when you do them in a space that reflects your personality and is pleasant to spend time in. Adding Storage in Your Laundry Room | Right Up My Alley
The before and after pictures for this makeover are striking for a couple of reasons. First, the before picture had terrible lighting, making the room look dark. Second, one wire shelf provided all of the storage for the room.
Cabinets were added with additional shelving in between them to provide both functional and beautiful storage. And the chandelier light brightens up the room and gives it a fun bit of glam.
Adding An Accent Wall | View Along The Way
And easy way to remodel a laundry space is to repaint and even add wallpaper on one wall to make an accent wall. Don’t forget to replace the utilitarian metal shelf with a cabinet and some wood shelves. It’s a great way to keep your cleaning supplies out of sight so the room stays uncluttered!
Rock Bottom Budget | Interior Swag
When your budget is extremely tight, there are simple projects you can do that make a huge impact on the room. Paint, open shelving, a hanging rod, and storage cubes are all very affordable but effective. See the difference?
Counter Workspace | Frills and Drills
For me, counter workspace comes second only to storage. This affordable laundry room makeover adds both storage and counter workspace while also making it look chic. And that marble brick wallpaper backsplash? Gorgeous!
Modern Farmhouse Laundry Room | Cherished Bliss
Many laundry rooms lack organization. They’re basically empty rooms with space to put (and hook up) your washer and dryer. This beautiful remodel shows that it doesn’t need to cost a lot to add organization and beauty to the laundry room.
From Cluttered to Organized Laundry Room | Welsh Design Studio
It always seems to come back to storage, right? Without good storage, there’s no good way to keep your laundry and cleaning supplies out of sight, which means that the whole room looks cluttered.
Simply adding a couple of cabinets and a counter workspace makes a huge difference. Don’t forget a fun focal point too!
Prioritize According to What You Need | Crazy Life With Littles
Last but certainly not least is our own laundry room makeover! In our previous home, I remember being super excited to have a utility sink in the laundry room. But the reality was that we hardly ever used it and didn’t really need it.
So, when it came time to do our laundry makeover, I opted to get rid of the utility sink and use that space for much-needed storage!
