Summer is basically upon us here in Florida now. My oldest will be graduating from VPK next week and we’ll all be in full-on summer-mode. Days will be spent outside playing at the park or in the backyard, swimming at the grandparents, and hanging out with the neighborhood kids. With all the hot, summer activities ahead, cool, refreshing summer snacks will be needed. There’s nothing better than cool treats on a hot summer day. That’s why I like to stock the fridge with healthy snacks I know my toddlers love and can access on their own.
Not long ago, my four year old learned how to open the fridge on her own. She feels empowered being able to get water and quick snacks on her own. She’ll even help her brother out too. That’s why it’s important to me to keep healthy snacks readily available for them whenever they need a refreshing treat. Happy Family organic yogurts are now available at Target and we couldn’t be happier! Happy Tot organic yogurt pouches come in three yummy flavors; Apple & Blackberry, Banana Mango & Spinach, and Strawberry Banana Oats & Chia. Our love for these whole milk yogurt pouches isn’t new. (We shared them in a recent post on the Best Foods for Baby.)
When my kids were babies, yogurt was one of the first foods I gave them. Pediatricians will recommend it starting around 6 months old because they’re so nutrient dense (calcium, protein, live and active cultures and vitamins). They’re full of probiotics for happy bellies and a great way to start introducing new textures to little ones. Best part is they’re non-GMO and don’t contain any added sweeteners!
Happy Tot organic yogurt pouches are the perfect cool treat for my toddlers! We love freezing them before heading out to the beach, park or putting in Isabella’s lunch bag.
Some other fun ways to enjoy Happy Family yogurts is to use fun shaped silicone molds and freeze for yogurt bites. You can also take popsicle molds and layer fresh fruit with their favorite yogurt flavor for a sweet, refreshing treat.
