Tips for Taming Toddler Hair with SoCozy

Sharing is caring!

Ever since Isabella has had enough hair for me to work with she has hated having it done. Is there really a toddler out there that loves it? (Please tell me no.) I’ve had to come up with creative ways and distractions to get the job done. Now that her hair is so much longer it’s even more of a struggle. And the knots and tangles…don’t get me started. I’ve learned some tricks along the way to get her hair done quicker and safer. Special thanks to SoCozy I’m going to share my insights with you.

Products we use:

We recently made the switch to SoCozy hair products and it has made all the difference in Isabella’s hair. Since having kids I have become more health and safety conscious, so I was happy when SoCozy approached me to try their products. I had actually been looking for safe, effective hair care for kids. SoCozy products are free of the nasties you will find in other hair products on the market. They are non-toxic and free of parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, and propylene glycol. If your child has allergies, these don’t contain alcohol, gluten, wheat, peanuts or tree nuts. It’s actually pretty shocking to me that any of these ingredients would be included in our every day products. The SoCozy line has haircare products for every type of hair and can be found in your Target store. You can also check out their entire line here.

You will also need a good detangling brush or comb. Tips for Tangle Free Toddler Hair with SoCozy | Crazy Life with Littles

Step One: Condition

I wondered for a while when we should switch from a baby all-in-one soap to a shampoo & conditioner for toddlers. We finally made the switch and it has made a huge difference! Isabella’s hair has some curl to it, but most days would look like a knotty, frizzy mess. Once we started using SoCozy curl conditioner her hair became super soft with beautiful little curls.

Step 2: Distract

Before you try to comb out your child’s hair or style it in any way, Distract! I do Isabella’s hair in the morning when she’s eating breakfast. She’s focused on eating and isn’t bothered by my actions. After the bath at night, we sit on the couch and she’ll watch cartoons while I comb out her hair.

Step 3: Detangle

While the conditioner makes Isabella’s hair super soft and manageable, I will still spritz a bit of Detangler spray before taking the Wet brush to it. This product can be used on wet hair or dry. So I will use it after her bath before brushing and a little bit more in the morning before combing out her bedhead.

Step 3: Style

SoCozy’s Curl Gel Cream is super lightweight, but really turns down the frizzies and enhances Isabella’s curls. I hope she holds on to them forever! I love to add a little bow to keep her hair out of her face, but usually we’ll put it up in a pinecone aka what Isabella calls a pony-tail. hahaha! Fly-aways can be secured with the Behave line of stylizers.

Isabella’s cousin came to visit us and I tried my tactics on the two of them. They were running around like crazy animals, so when they calmed down and started coloring I sneak attacked them with the hair brush and SoCozy products. 😉 They didn’t pay me any attention. SoCozy products are here to stay!

Great tips! I probably need to switch from the 3-in-1 body wash/shampoo/conditioner too. I'm so lost when it comes to hair!
