This year I have plans to not be stressed out and shopping at the last minute. It’s a big goal, but achievable! I want to be free in December to focus on my kids and enjoy the season, partaking in our family traditions without other things on my mind. Quite honestly my house would be decorate and tree up by now, but we’re wrapping up a home DIY in the living room. The end result is going to be sooo perfect for the holiday decor though. I can’t wait to show you!
For now though, I’m taking inventory of the gifts I’ve purchased for the kids so far and thought I’d share with you all in case you need a little help for your toddlers/preschoolers. It also helped me realize I have no problems buying for my daughter, but have not a clue what to get my son. Truth be told he likes most of what his big sister does…including Disney princesses. While I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my son playing with dolls, I think he just hasn’t been exposed to enough boyish toys to realize there’s more in life than dress-up and tea parties. So if anyone has a 2-3 yr old boy and can leave me some suggestions in the comments I would appreciate it!
Score big with the Black Friday and Cyber Week Sales.
1 // Disney Princess – Elena of Avalor
My girl loves anything Disney Princess! She also has a love for puzzles, iPad time, and dress-up.
4 Puzzle Pack (purchased in Target/unavailable online) | Headphones
Shop some of our other favorite Elena items. Isabella will pick that nightgown every night of the week. Both kids get constant use out of the play set as well. Also on the way is an Elena of Avalor dress-up dress from Little Adventurers along with a matching dress for her doll. (Currently $6 off the dress. Shop here.)
2 // Squeezies
I don’t get the excitement over these, but apparently kids love them. Food Squeezies and squooshies are all the rage this year.
3 // Disney Magnets
We have a couple dress-up play sets that are magnetic, so I thought the kids might like these. Great for when you’re cooking dinner and the kids can be nearby using these on the dishwasher or fridge.
Disney Princess | Mickey Mouse
4 // Tickle Me Elmo
I swore to myself that I would never allow Elmo into my home. Somehow, someway, my kids always found out about him and fell in love. My son actually picked this out from the store one day. I hid it to save for Christmas.
5 // Trolls
One of the kids’ favorite movies this year was Trolls. Plus they just love play sets so this was a no brainer.
Dreamworks Trolls Pod’ular Troll Tree
6 // Littlest Pet Shop
Again…play sets are winners for us. This one is a super cute Cruise Ship themed set. We have major goals of going on a cruise vacation! This is the best we can do now. Ha!
7 // Fingerlings
Probably one of the hottest toys this year and sold out everywhere. Beware of fakes sold on Amazon. Thankfully one of my mom friends did her research a few months back and I scored a Monkey Bar Play set and purple Fingerlings. Here’s hoping it’s everything and more….
2017 Hottest Toys of the Year
Seriously though….let me know what to get my son! Happy Holidays!
Update!! Thanks to all you boy moms out there for giving me some suggestions on what to get a 2-3 yr old boy! Here are some recent purchases I just made!
8 // Glow in the Dark – Magic Tracks
How cool are these tracks?! They bend, snap together and glow in the dark! Each race car has 5 LED lights that glow as it speeds around the track.
9 // Hot Wheels
This track will surely been a winner since my boy loves when things crash or fall.
Hot Wheels Criss Cross Crash Set
10 // Justice League Thermal Power Superman™ Figure
I picked this up in Target, but can’t seem to locate it online. This action figure can expand his wings and says 12 sounds + phrases. I’ll be honest, I enjoyed testing it out myself. Ha!
11 // Fisher Price Imaginext
12 // KidKraft Dollhouse
My girl has been in love with large dollhouses since visiting her cousin. I got a great deal at Target on the KidKraft Ava dollhouse!
13 // Magnetic Tiles
A few months back we received our first set of magnetic tiles from Shape Mags. (You can read our full review here.) Since then, no lie, my kids will break them out every single day. So this year for Christmas we’re increasing our stash to build bigger and better things!

So many great choices! I've had my eye on those Disney magnets for Bella too!
