Every woman goes through various stages of cleaning. With each stage comes a very different meaning of cleaning. Teenagers scoop up all the clothes on their bedroom floor and toss it in their closet and consider it clean. B.C. (before children) the cleaning bug would hit and you’d find yourself devoting a Saturday morning/afternoon to cleaning the entire place. Then the children arrive…housecleaning takes on a whole new meaning, especially if you’re a working mom. You go from cleaning frenzy weekends to “eh it’s livable”. I’ve been there and given up on perfection a long time ago. Here are my best time saving tips for all my working moms out there on housecleaning.
Storage Bins
Do yourself a favor and grab some canvas storage bins, but stay away from the clear containers. Scoop up as much as you can off the floor and dump it in a bin. Slide said bin into a cube shelf. (Every once in a while I attempt to separate and organize the storage bins. That’s a joke that only lasts a day.)
Wipe It All Down
Each night after dinner/before going to bed take an all-purpose cleaner and wipe down the counters and kitchen table. Those disposable disinfecting wipes are pretty handy too for the kitchen and bathrooms.
Babysitter/Nanny
Chances are if you’re a working mom you have one of these. Add simple household chores/laundry folding to their job description for a little extra-something-something.
