DIY TRAVEL FIRST AID KIT FOR KIDS

Sharing is caring!

The year is barely underway and we’ve caught ourselves out on the road and traveling much, much more than usual. With all the adventure that lies ahead typically come emergencies. As moms, we typically learn through trial and error. That’s how I came to the realization that I probably needed a travel size first aid kit for the kids that I could throw in the backpack before heading out to the park or on a trip. I rounded up my favorite Johnson & Johnson products like Band Aid Skin Flex bandages and Johnson’s Head-to-Toe-Wash and Shampoo along with some other items to create our DIY Travel Boo-Boo Kit for the kids.

We try to get out and do fun family things whenever my husband has off work. Last year during back-to-school season, you may remember that we set up a handy emergency car kit with random supplies and activities to keep the little ones occupied during longer trips along with a first aid kit. One of the perks of living in Florida is that we get to spend more time outside running around and playing.

One or both of our kids will usually end up getting hurt or worse…a bug bite. Having a travel first aid kit is pretty easy to create and extremely useful in times like these.

You can take any type of small container, such as a flat baby wipes container, storage bag, or little plastic container. I tried to think of some typical scenarios we’ve found ourselves in, in order to pack only the essentials. The point is to keep it light, compact and easy for travel.

Inside, our first aid kid contains a few Band Aid Skin Flex bandages, Neosporin, gauze, and tweezers. Scrapes need to be cleaned out, so you can take a small travel bottle of soap (we love Johnson’s Head-to-Toe-Wash and Shampoo because of how gentle it is) to use on a piece of the gauze. A small tube of anti-itch cream is a must for us lately as well for all the bug bites.
