If you’ve been following along, you know the temps have started dropping here and we’ve been experiencing cooler mornings and evenings allowing us to break out the fall fashion! This is also the perfect opportunity to escape our air conditioned home we’ve been hibernating in all summer and plan some fun, outdoor activities and trips. So far we’ve been to Busch Garden’s Tampa Sesame Street, Sweetfields Farm, and Old McMicky’s Farm (and rescheduled our Disney’s Magic Kingdom trip for early November). While I’m a huge fan of babywearing, my son is a bit older and heavier now so I wanted to find a stroller to take on our day trips. Delta Children was kind enough to gift us the J is for Jeep Brand Metro to try out!
We have two double strollers sitting in our garage unused. They’re too bulky and difficult to maneuver in large crowds and tight spaces. I have too much anxiety taking my kids out in public as it is. I don’t need the added pressure of trying to fit a large stroller into the equation. Besides at least one of them is running walking so we didn’t have a real need for a double stroller. So that’s why I selected the single J is for Jeep Full-Size Metro Stroller.
My husband had the stroller setup and ready to roll in less than 10 minutes. It looks simple enough that I could have done it myself, but he happened to be there so I lucked out (this time). I immediately fell in love with the deep cupholders. Many cups of coffee have gone tumbling out at the slightest bumps in other strollers. I don’t need that kind of tragedy in my life.
So now for the Pros/Cons:
Pros:
Ample Storage: This is important when you’re traveling with babies/toddlers. I can easily slide my diaper bag into this storage area.
Wheel Locks: Toddlers love taking strollers for joyrides. Lock it up.
Removable Tray: I love this feature personally. It’s great for when your littles are snacking, but you can also take it off for easy in/out of your child.
1 Hand Open/Close: Keeping it real, I usually have a child or bag in one hand, so having a feature that only requires one hand to fold up the stroller is super convenient. It’s also light enough that I can lift it up into my SUV using only one arm.
Sun Shade: Florida is BRIGHT. Sun shades are crucial to keep those rays off the kids.
Deep Cup Holders: Like I mentioned above, I don’t have time for tragic coffee spilling accidents. Deep cup holders are lifesavers.
Lightweight/Durable: Having a stroller that is lightweight was important to me. I’m not a bodybuilder. Add a diaper bag and child to a heavy stroller and you’re looking for trouble. While maintaining it’s weightless feature, it’s durable. When used properly (heavy bags underneath vs hanging off the handles) this stroller will not topple over.
Cost: This stroller is $59.99 at Target. In my opinion, it’s a great value for the price. (Available in 3 colors: Satellite (blue), Trekking (green), and Lunar (orange).)
Cons:
This is not an off-roading stroller. If you want something that you can jog with or take on the beach, try this stroller: J is for Jeep® Brand Adventure All-Terrain Jogger
