5 Summer Activities for Preschoolers

Sharing is caring!

Summer is here! Isabella has officially graduated and will be off to kindergarten in August! I can’t believe how fast time flies! In the blink of an eye, she went from shy girl starting preschool with brand new people to a confident little girl with loads of personality (and sass). Life is fleeting and that’s why we plan on making this summer before kindergarten legendary!

You don’t have to travel far to give your kids a summer they’ll always remember. Living in Florida we have so many options at our fingertips. Beaches are close by, neighborhood friends are always available to play outside, pool time at their grandparents across the street, and so much more!

5 Summer Activities for Preschoolers

I just finished creating our summer calendar. It contains just the right amount of planning for legendary fun. Some of the best moments aren’t planned or forced so I love the idea of a carefree summer with a sprinkle of scheduled boredom busters. Here are some suggestions to keep your summer plans memorable and fun.

Local Camps and Summer Enrollment

I just signed Isabella up for the summer session at her school. For 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, she’ll keep her mind fresh of what she learned all year and have fun playing with her friends. This also gives her a chance to still be challenged, while getting a break from her brother.

Summer Movies

Our local movie theater has kid’s movies twice a week all summer long. For $1.50 you get one ticket, a kid’s popcorn and drink. Summer movies are great for rainy days or excessive heat warnings.

Playgrounds and Splash Pads

Lots of playgrounds have splash pads now including our local YMCA.

Backyard Hangouts

The kids love playing with the neighborhood kids in the backyard. We’ll break out a kiddie pool, sprinkler and water tables for epic fun. If they want to go swimming, all they need to do is go across the street to their grandparent’s house for the pool. It’s basically the equivalent of a community pool! Ha!

Bubbles & Chalk

No matter how hot it is outside, bubbles and sidewalk chalk are my kid’s favorite outside activities. Let them get chalky and then dash through the sprinkler to cool off!
