What is FASTer Way to Fat Loss?

FASTer Way to Fat Loss (or FWTFL) is a 6-week online fitness and nutritional program created by Amanda Tress. There’s no diet fads or unrealistic expectations, just a combination of intermittent fasting, carb cycling, whole food nutrition, and macro tracking. Through this program you learn how to fuel your body with proper nutrition while maintaining energy and burning fat. (You can view my final results here.)

During the 6-week program, you will be assigned to a coach to help walk you through all the areas and really help support you through the program in every aspect. My coach is Cathy DeZorzi.

My Experience with FWTFL

We are starting week 3 currently so I wanted to check in and share my experience so far with the program. I was really eager to get started because I wasn’t seeing much in terms of weight loss by just working out. While I love my workouts at Burn Bootcamp, I needed to get back on track with fueling my body properly in order to start seeing better results.

Week 1 is a prep week. Here you’ll set up your MyFitnessPal app either on the computer or phone (I use the mobile app). FWTFL tracks macros which are your proteins, carbs, and fats. Based on your goals, you’ll have a set amount of these each day. This program utilizes carb cycling and intermittent fasting (IF) which means you eat during an 8 hour window and fast for the remaining 16 hours. Example: I break my “fast” at 12p and stop eating at 8p.

During the first week I started implementing the strategies although you don’t technically have to do this. I was just really eager to get started. Some days are Low Carb (consume <50 net carbs), while others are Low Macro (consume 25% less macros across the board) along with Regular Macro days. This is where your coach and Facebook group really help out. You will receive a Comprehensive Guide when you sign up with FWTFL, but there’s literally so much information that it would be impossible to perfect it from the start.

Week 2 involved progress in terms of meeting my macro goals and finding foods I enjoyed. It’s been really interesting to learn which foods are high in fat and carbs (good and bad). Some days I’ve struggled to meet my calorie goals – there is no shortage of food consumption, that’s for sure!

**Daily workouts are available with this program; however, I can’t speak to them since I’ve decided to continue with my Burn Bootcamp workouts. But I’ve heard really great things!

Final Thoughts

So far I’m really loving the program. While we don’t measure weight and focus on the scale during FWTFL, I am starting to see NSV in the way my clothes feel and the amount of energy I have during my workouts and throughout the day.

I will be sharing some of my meal tips soon, especially for those women who work outside of the home.

A new round is starting soon! Don’t wait – Sign up here to join my coach’s new group! – Enter her name “Cathy DeZorzi” during sign up.
